Brent crude fell 6.3% to $90.70 a barrel after Iran said it would halt attacks as long as the United States did the same.
What happened
- Brent: $90.70 per barrel, -6.3%
- WTI: $84.12 per barrel, -5.7%
- Catalyst: conditional pause in U.S.–Iran attacks
Why it matters
The drop removes part of the geopolitical supply-risk premium. It can feed quickly into inflation expectations, transport shares, importer currencies and bond yields.
Market context
Earlier Asian-session reports briefly showed Brent below $88 and down close to 10%. BeCoin uses the later Reuters wrap value and identifies the timestamp so the two observations are not treated as contradictory closes.
BeCoin read
The relief holds only while the pause remains credible and physical supply stays uninterrupted. A renewed attack, shipping disruption or official production change would require a fresh article update.
This is BeCoin analysis of a documented event, not a trade instruction. Any scenario above is conditional and may be invalidated by new facts.

We checked current Google coverage and the named source material, distinguished live or intraday observations from closes, and retained each source’s publication or data time. Material facts came from Reuters. Research cutoff: 2026-07-27 10:55 UTC.
